Primitivo Salento Red IGP

Made from the renowned native Primitivo grape variety of the Salento peninsula, this ruby red wine has an intense and velvety taste. Its distinctive bouquet of black currant, blackberry, and cherry, and its round and pleasantly tannic taste go well with roast and braised meats, cheeses, and wild game. Serving temperature: 18° / 20° C.

Area

Upper Salento Plain (San Pancrazio Salentino - San Donaci), province of Brindisi, in the DOC Salice Salentino zone.

Vinification

Grapes are harvested by hand and undergo de-stemming and soft crushing. Maceration takes place for at least 10-12 days at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. Pumping phases alternate with delestage.

Maturation

After malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured in stainless steel tanks for 12 months, and in the bottle for another 6 months.

Ruby red with purple nuances.

Aromas of ripe red fruit jam, dried fruit and spices.

Flavor

Good structure, fruity, warm, persistent.

Serving temperature Uncork and decant an hour before, optimum temperature 18° - 20° C.
