Squinzano Rosso Riserva DOP

This wine is made from Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes that are native to the Salento peninsula, especially in the area of Squinzano. The grapes, ripened by the hot sun in this windblown environment with limestone soil, produce a robust, full-bodied, fruity, tannic wine.

Stored in underground vitrified concrete tanks refines its structure in Slavonian oak barrels during the final 6 months, this wine goes well with the typical cuisine of Puglia and Southern food in general and is ideal with red meat dishes. Serve at room temperature. Must be uncorked a few hours before.

Alcohol content 13.5% vol.

Northern Salento plains, province of Lecce, in the DOC Squinzano zone.


The grapes are delicately de-stemmed and crushed. Maceration takes place at a temperature between 25 and 28° C for about eight days. Brief pumping phases alternate with délestage.


After vinification, the wine is aged for 12 months in 35 hl Slavonian oak barrels, followed by aging in the bottle.


Deep ruby red.


Full and intense, with notes of blackberries, black cherries and ripe red fruit and a sweet spiciness with hints of vanilla and liquorice.


Full-bodied and round to the palate, pleasantly tannic, persistent and distinctively fresh.

Serving temperature Uncork and decant an hour before. Optimum temperature 18 ° C.
Food matches

Perfect with grilled red meats, also horse meat, and with aged, sharp, marbled cheeses.
